Sunkee Lee is a tenured Associate Professor of Organizational Theory and Strategy at the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University. His research interests include individual and organizational learning, organization design, and the microfoundations of firm strategy and performance. He currently serves as an associate editor at the Strategic Management Journal and as a co-editor-in-chief at the Journal of Organization Design. He is also a member of the editorial review board at Organization Science.

Dr. Lee’s work has been published in top management journals, including Management Science, Organization Science, and the Strategic Management Journal, and cited by global media outlets, such as The Economist, BBC, The Wall Street Journal, and Harvard Business Review. He has received several awards for his research, including the Academy of Management William H. Newman Award for Best Paper Based on a Dissertation, the Ralph Gomory Best Industry Studies Paper Award, and the Strategic Management Society (SMS) Emerging Scholar Award. 

At the Tepper School, Professor Lee teaches the core MBA strategy course, for which he was selected by his students as the recipient of the George Leland Bach Teaching Award for Excellence in the Classroom in 2022. He was also named one of the Best 40-Under-40 MBA Professors by Poets&Quants in 2024. Dr. Lee is also actively involved in Tepper's executive education programs for a variety of global companies and organizations.

Dr. Lee earned his bachelor’s degree from Korea University, master’s degree from Seoul National University, and Ph.D. in strategy from INSEAD. In his early 20s, he served in the Republic of Korea Army for two years as a military intelligence agent. He joined the Tepper School in 2017.
